2025,10,30CAS 67-68-5 Dimethyl Sulfoxide DMSO is an organic solvent, a colorless and transparent liquid at room temperature. It is soluble in water, ethanol, acetone, ether, and chloroform, and is a highly polar, inert solvent. It is flammable when heated to high temperatures, producing toxic sulfide fumes. DMSO is highly hygroscopic and readily undergoes violent chemical reactions.Dimethyl Sulfoxide DMSO is considered a hazardous chemical. While it has low acute toxicity, it poses specific significant hazards. It can also cause skin irritation, eye damage, and may affect certain organs like the liver with prolonged or significant exposure. Therefore, it must be handled with appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) like gloves and safety glasses.
