No, THF is not considered a "safe" solvent and must be handled with significant caution. 
THF Tetrahydrofuran is harmful in contact with skin and or swallowed. May form explosive peroxides Wear solvent resistant gloves (butyl rubber). Use a non-combustible material such as vermiculite, sand or earth to absorb the product and place it in a container for later disposal. Wear chemical goggles.
