Dichloroethane is an organic compound with a chemical formula of C2H4Cl2 and a molecular weight of 98.97. It is a kind of halogenated hydrocarbon and is often represented by EDCor DCE. There are two isomers of dichloroethane, 1,1-dichloroethane and 1,2-dichloroethane. Unless otherwise specified, it generally refers to 1,2-dichloroethane. Ethylene dichloride EDC is a colorless or light yellow transparent liquid, hardly soluble in water, it is a colorless liquid with an odor similar to chloroform at room temperature. It is toxic and potentially carcinogenic. Dichloroethane Chemical Liquid is mainly used as vinyl chloride (polyvinyl chloride It is an intermediate in the preparation process and is often used as a solvent in synthesis. It is also used as a solvent for wax, fat, rubber, etc. and as a grain pesticide.

CAS 1300-21-6 Dichloroethane Applications

1. Primarily used as a raw material for vinyl chloride; ethylene glycol; oxalic acid; ethylenediamine; tetraethyl lead; polyethylene polyamines; and biphenylcarboxylic acid. Also employed in pesticide manufacturing and as a raw material for certain pharmaceuticals.

2. Dichloroethane EDC is used for boron analysis and as an extractant for oils and tobacco. Also employed in the production of acetyl cellulose.

3. Serves as an analytical reagent, such as a solvent and chromatographic standard. Additionally used as an extractant for oils and in organic synthesis.

4. Functions as a detergent, extractant, pesticide, and metal degreaser.

5. 99.9% Dichloroethane is used as a solvent for waxes, fats, rubber, and as a grain insecticide.
