Product Description
Styrene Monomer is a colorless liquid at room temperature, insoluble in water, toxic, and has a special smell. Because styrene has unsaturated double bonds and forms a conjugated system with the benzene ring, it has strong chemical reaction properties and is easy to self-polymerize and polymerize, and generally uses heating or catalysts to make free radical polymerization of k styrene. Styrene is flammable and forms an explosive mixture with air. Due to its active chemical properties, styrene is generally stored in a cool and ventilated warehouse, away from fire and heat sources, and the temperature of the warehouse should not exceed 25 ° C.

Styrene Monomer Uses

Styrene Monomer liquid is an important raw material for industry because it is the chemical ‘building block’ for creating a multitude of versatile plastics and synthetic rubbers with beneficial properties including strength, durability, comfort, light weight, safety and energy efficiency. The key styrene derivatives include:

  1. Styrene monomer is typically converted or ‘polymerised’ into pellets which can be heated, fused and moulded into plastic components.
  2. polystyrene (PS)
  3. expandable polystyrene (EPS)
  4. acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS)
  5. styrene butadiene rubber (SBR)
  6. unsaturated polyester resins
  7. styrene butadiene latices
