n-Butyl acetate (cas no 123-86-4) also known as Normal Butyl Acetate, is an organic compound with the chemical formula CH₃COO(CH₂)_₃CH₃. It is a colourless, transparent liquid with a pleasant, fruity smell and is an excellent organic solvent. n-Butyl acetate is soluble in ethylcellulose, cellulose acetate butyrate, polystyrene, methacrylic resin, chlorinated rubber and a variety of natural gums. Flammability: It has lower acute toxicity but is more irritating to the eyes and nose.
