CAS 141-78-6 Ethyl acetate is a colorless transparent liquid with low toxicity, a sweet taste, and a pungent odor at high concentrations. It is volatile, sensitive to air, and can absorb water, causing it to slowly hydrolyze and undergo an acidic reaction. Can be miscible with chloroform, ethanol, acetone, and ether, soluble in water.
