DCM Dichloromethane also known as methylene chloride, it is an organic compound with the molecular formula CH₂Cl₂. It appears as a colorless, transparent liquid with a pungent odor similar to diethyl ether. It is slightly soluble in water but soluble in ethanol and diethyl ether. Under normal usage conditions, it is classified as a non-flammable, low-boiling-point solvent. When its vapors form high concentrations in hot air, they create a weakly combustible mixture. DCM Dichloromethane CH2Cl2 is commonly used as a substitute for flammable solvents such as petroleum ether and diethyl ether.
