Perchlorethylene, also known as perchlorethylene, tetrachloroethylene, is an organic compound with a chemical formula of C2Cl4. It is a colorless liquid, insoluble in water, and miscible in most organic solvents such as ethanol, ether. It is mainly used as an organic solvent, dry cleaning It can also be used as a solvent for adhesives, a degreasing solvent for metals, a desiccant, a paint remover, an insect repellant, and a fat extractant, and it can also be used in organic synthesis.
