CAS 127-19-5 N,N-Dimethylacetamide is a colourless, transparent liquid. N,N-dimethylacetamide (also known as acetyl dimethylamine or DMAC) is a highly polar aprotic solvent with a slight ammonia odour. It has strong solubility and can dissolve a wide range of chemicals. It is miscible with water, aromatic compounds, esters, ketones, alcohols, ethers, benzene and trichloromethane, among others. It can also activate compound molecules, making it a widely used solvent and catalyst.

DMAC Uses

1. N,N-Dimethylacetamide is a good polar solvent and is used as a raw material for synthetic fibres and organic synthesis.

2. It is also used in organic synthesis as a solvent, catalyst and paint remover.

3. DMAC is mainly used in the production of synthetic fibres (acrylonitrile), polyurethane spinning and synthetic polyamide resins. It is also used as a solvent for extractive distillation and the separation of styrene from the C8 fraction. It is widely used in polymer films, coatings, medicine, etc.

4. Currently, it is used in the synthesis of antibiotics and pesticides in medicine and agriculture. It is also available as a catalyst for reactions, an electrolytic solvent, a paint remover and a variety of crystalline solvent adducts and complexes.

5. Dimethylacetamide dmac is used in the synthesis of reactive solvents, synthetic fibre spinning, synthetic resin solvents, paints, etc.
