Industrial Grade Aniline Applications

Aniline is primarily used to prepare methylene dianiline and related compounds through condensation with formaldehyde.
Other uses include as a chemical in rubber processing (9%), as a herbicide (2%), and as a dye or pigment (2%). ·
As Additives to rubber, aniline derivatives, such as phenylenediamines and diphenylamine, act as antioxidants.
Paracetamol is an example of a drug prepared from aniline.
Aniline's main use in the dye industry is as a precursor to indigo, the colour used for blue jeans.
