What is Dichloroethane EDC Chemical?

Dichloroethane EDC or DCE, also known as Ethylene dichloride,1,2 dichloroethane,1,1-dichloroethane, is a kind of halogenated hydrocarbon. Dichloroethane is a colorless or yellowish transparent liquid, which is hardly soluble in water. It is mainly used as an intermediate in the preparation process of vinyl chloridee (PVC monomer) and also as a solvent. It is a colorless liquid, dichloroethane EDC has oxidation resistance, does not corrode metals, and may cause combustion and explosion in case of high heat, naked flame and strong oxidant.

Applications

1. High Quality Dichloroethane is mainly used as raw materials for vinyl chloride, ethylene glycol, oxalic acid, ethylenediamine, tetraethyl lead, polyethene polyamine and dibenzoyl.

2. 1,2 dichloroethane also used as a solvent for greases, resins, rubbers, dry cleaning agents, pesticides in addition to early chrysanthemum, caffeine, vitamins, hormone extractants, wetting agents, penetrants, petroleum dewaxing, anti-seismic agents

3. Ethylene dichloride is also used as a raw material for the manufacture of pesticides and for the treatment of chlorpyrifos and piperazine.
