Mono Ethylene Glycol For Antifreeze

Mono ethylene glycol (MEG) is used as an anti-freeze additive for engine cooling systems to prevent freezing and as an anti-boil additive.

Other Applications

MEG is mainly used to make polyester, polyester resin, a hygroscopic agent, a plasticiser, a Surfactant, synthetic fibres, cosmetics and a solvent for dyes and inks. It is also used as an antifreeze agent for engines, a dehydrating agent for gas and in the manufacture of resins. It is also used as a wetting agent for cellophane, fibres, leather and adhesives. It can produce synthetic resin PET and fibre-grade PET, namely polyester fibres and bottle-chip grade PET for making mineral water bottles.
