Product Description

CAS 79-10-7 Acrylic acid is a colorless liquid with a pungent odour and strong acidity. It is soluble in water, ethanol, and ether, as well as in benzene, acetone, chloroform, and so on. Its melting point is 13.5 °C, its boiling point is 140.9 °C, and its density (20/4 °C) is 1.0611 g/cm³. It is a highly reactive substance. It polymerises easily in air and can be reduced to propionic acid by hydrogenation. Addition with hydrogen chloride generates 2-chloropropionic acid.
