Adipic acid synthesis: Cyclohexanone is oxidised to produce adipic acid, which is a key monomer used to make nylon 6,6 fibres and resins.

Hexamethylenediamine production: It also serves as a precursor in the production of hexamethylenediamine through amination — another monomer used in nylon synthesis.

Other uses
