Diethanolamine DEA is used as a buffer material in industry, as a crosslinking agent in the production of high-resilience polyurethane foam, and mixed with triethanolamine to make a detergent for aircraft engine pistons. It reacts with fatty acids to form alkylamines and is also used as a raw material for organic synthesis and surfactants, as well as an acid gas absorber. It is used as a thickening agent and foam modifier in shampoos and lightweight detergents. 99.8% Diethanolamine is also used as an intermediate in organic synthesis and as a solvent. It has many applications in the washing, cosmetics, agricultural, construction and metal industries.
